Traditions of Columbus offers Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care under one roof, allowing residents to move between levels of support without leaving the community. The health program accommodates residents who wander during the day or night, need wound care, use supplemental oxygen, live with advanced dementia, manage diabetes by oral medication, injection, or sliding-scale insulin, and adults younger than 60 who require support. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site around the clock, with additional nursing staff on call 24/7 to respond to changes in condition.
Additional safeguards include background-checked employees, an awake night shift, door alarms, pull-cord alerts, a personal emergency response system, and 24-hour staffing. On-site podiatry services and a therapy room reduce the need for outside appointments. Caregivers help with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting for residents who need some physical assistance. Residents may transfer with a walker, wheelchair, standby help, or a one-person assist, ensuring people with varying mobility levels can stay in the community as conditions change. An activity director schedules daily engagements designed to match each care level.
Accommodations range from apartments with private baths, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, and cable hookups to simpler layouts; not every apartment includes every feature. Housekeeping, in-unit or scheduled laundry, and maintenance are provided, and residents in Independent Living can opt for housekeeping, laundry, and a monthly meal plan while continuing to manage as much of their day-to-day life as they choose.
Dining is flexible. Residents order meals from a menu, request snacks any time, or choose in-room dining when preferred. A private dining room is available for family events, and nutritional staff adapt offerings to special diets, including diabetic and mechanical-soft needs.
Amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise and wellness rooms, movie theater, library, chapel with on-site religious services, special-interest clubs, dog park, daily happy hour, internet access, communal gardens, walking paths, and scheduled transportation as well as proximity to public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
