The Woodlands at Canterfield offers both Assisted Living and Memory Care, with programming calibrated for residents who wander, show elopement risk, stay up throughout the night, or need wound care, oxygen management, special diets, or diabetic oversight—whether on oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. Care teams are also trained to work with residents under 60 and to support advanced dementia conditions. On-site medical providers in podiatry, audiology, and dental care visit regularly, and a dedicated therapy room is available for rehabilitation and strength maintenance.
Around-the-clock clinical coverage is in place, with an RN or LPN on every shift and an awake night staff. Background-checked caregivers answer pull-cord or wearable PERS alerts, and a fenced rear courtyard adds another layer of security for residents prone to wandering. The community can supply full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and staff perform standby, one-person, walker, or wheelchair transfers as ordered. An activity director plans structured cognitive programs that align with memory-care best practices.
Apartments vary, but many include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, and cable service. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided for all units, yet specific features such as kitchenettes or private baths may not be present in every floor plan; availability depends on the unit selected.
Dining follows a set menu with the option to order à la carte. Snacks are available throughout the day, and a private dining room can be reserved for family gatherings. The culinary team supports physician-ordered diet modifications, mechanical-chopped or puréed textures, vegetarian selections, and other special nutritional requests.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-friendly pathways, internet service, a fitness and wellness center, exercise room, movie room, beauty/barber shop, concierge desk, communal gardens, a putting green with adjacent bocce ball area, and on-site religious services. Scheduled transportation and a TowneCar help residents reach appointments or run errands. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
