The Brant at Oswego delivers three distinct levels of care—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—within one setting. Residents who are under 60 years old, individuals managing diabetes with oral medications, and those living with advanced dementia can all be accommodated. The Memory Care program focuses on structured routines and cueing strategies designed for progressive cognitive decline, while Assisted Living offers scheduled support for daily tasks without removing personal independence. Independent Living residents benefit from the same on-site clinical resources, providing peace of mind that additional services can be added quickly if needs change.
Day-to-day support is managed by a team that has completed background checks and operates under an activity director who coordinates therapeutic and recreational programming. Staff members provide some physical assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and they are trained in multiple transfer techniques—walker assistance, wheelchair transfers, standby or supervisory support, and one-person transfers—allowing residents to move safely between settings. This breadth of hands-on help reduces the need for outside appointments and keeps care consistent.
Accommodations range from studio to larger apartment layouts. Select residences feature private bathrooms, independent temperature controls, in-unit laundry, and cable hookups, although not every unit includes every option. Routine maintenance and weekly housekeeping are included for all residents, and those in the Independent Living program can choose additional housekeeping and laundry services if desired.
Dining is prepared on site with three chef-served meals daily for Assisted Living and Memory Care. Independent Living residents can enroll in a monthly meal plan that covers a set number of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in the main dining room, allowing them the flexibility to cook in their own apartments or dine out when they choose. Menus accommodate diabetic considerations and texture-modified diets, ensuring continuity with individual care plans.
Community amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, library, concierge services, scheduled transportation, and proximity to public transit. On-site religious services are held regularly, and pets are allowed in designated areas. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
