Clarendale of Mokena offers three levels of residency—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—so residents can remain in one community even if their needs change. The Memory Care neighborhood is built to support people who wander, elope, exhibit combativeness, stay up all night, or live with advanced dementia. Staff manage complex medical tasks such as wound care, oxygen use, special diets, and both oral and injectable diabetes therapies, including sliding-scale coverage.
Clinical resources are extensive. A registered or licensed nurse is on-site around the clock, supported by awake night staff, routine background checks, door alarms, fenced exteriors, and WanderGuard technology. Residents have access to 12–16 hours of daily nursing, coordinated medication management, hospice services, podiatry, optometry, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, plus a wellness program. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and transfer help ranges from simple standby to one-person pivot support for walkers and wheelchairs. Pull-cord and personal emergency response systems connect residents directly to staff at any hour.
Living accommodations span studio and larger apartment layouts, many with kitchenettes, walk-in closets, balconies, or patios; however, individual units vary and may not include every feature. Ground-floor and wheelchair-accessible options with roll-in showers are offered alongside amenities such as in-unit washers and dryers, cable or satellite TV, Wi-Fi, phone service, and all utilities. The campus includes landscaped grounds, outdoor walking paths, parking, and access to computer, library, and billiards areas.
Dining is handled on site by culinary staff who can modify meals for diabetic, low-sodium, or other physician-ordered diets. Residents may choose the main dining room for communal meals or reserve a private dining space for family gatherings. Meal service is timed to support people who wake during the night or require supervised eating assistance.
Additional conveniences on campus include a barber and beauty shop and a wellness center. Pets are allowed. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
