Generations at Oakton Arms offers Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care on one campus, making it possible for residents to transition between levels of support without relocating. The community accepts residents who wander during the day or night, provides interventions for elopement risk, and is experienced in advanced dementia care. Clinical capabilities cover wound management, oxygen therapy, diabetes management for both oral medication and insulin-dependent residents, and admission of adults under 60 when appropriate.
Clinical oversight is anchored by registered and licensed practical nurses on site 24 hours a day, with an additional nurse on call around the clock. Background-checked team members remain awake on night shift, and a dedicated Activity Director coordinates therapeutic programming. Safety measures include 24-hour security staff, a Wander Guard system, in-room pull cords, and routine wellness rounds. Residents have on-site access to podiatry services, and full assistance can be provided with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby support to two-person assists, and equipment such as walkers and wheelchairs is accommodated.
Apartments vary by layout and feature sets. Some units include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable hookup, and the opportunity to paint or otherwise personalize the space; not every apartment has every item. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are provided for all care levels, and Independent Living residents receive light housekeeping specific to IL standards.
Dining services revolve around a daily set menu complemented by made-to-order alternatives, snacks available throughout the day, and physician-ordered diet modifications when needed. Independent Living residents may opt for a monthly meal plan that includes a set number of meals in the main dining room but permits cooking in their own kitchenette when preferred.
Community amenities include wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, an exercise room, a wellness center, campus-wide internet access, and scheduled transportation for medical appointments and errands. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
