The Cottages of Meridian offers both Assisted Living and Memory Care, with programs designed to manage a wide range of medical needs. Staff are trained to work with residents who wander during the day or night, present elopement risks, stay up all night, or require wound care and oxygen therapy. The community also accepts adults younger than 60 and supports diabetics whether they use oral medications or insulin injections. Residents living with advanced dementia can remain on-site as their condition progresses, supported by medication management, routine nursing assessments, incontinence care, ambulatory assistance, and coordinated hospice services when needed.
Round-the-clock clinical oversight is provided by on-staff RNs and LPNs, backed by a nurse on call 24 hours a day. Caregivers are awake and on duty throughout the night, and all employees undergo background checks. Safety features include door alarms, a fenced perimeter, WanderGuard technology, pull-cord systems, and personal emergency response units that alert staff instantly. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Residents who use walkers or wheelchairs, need standby help, benefit from one- or two-person transfers, or require a full Hoyer lift are accommodated.
Apartments can include private bathrooms, basic furnishings, individual climate controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate; availability of these features varies by unit type, so it is best to verify during a tour. Rooms are designed for easy navigation with mobility devices and have call systems that connect directly to caregivers.
Meals follow a set menu featuring three daily servings, and snacks are available between scheduled dining times. The culinary team can modify textures and manage specialized diets for diabetes, low sodium, and other physician-ordered restrictions to align with each resident’s care plan.
Residents and visitors have access to off-street parking, and the community is close to public transportation for additional travel options. Smoking is permitted outdoors in designated areas. Common spaces include wheelchair-accessible paths, internet access points, a barber and beauty salon, and communal gardens. Scheduled transportation is offered for medical appointments and group outings.
