Legacy Village of Athens delivers both Assisted Living and Memory Care, providing continuous support for residents who need help with daily tasks or have cognitive impairments. The community accepts individuals who wander during the day or night, are at risk for elopement, display combative or other challenging behaviors, stay awake overnight, or require wound care, oxygen management, special diets, or diabetic care—including oral medications, injections, and sliding‐scale insulin. Staff members are trained to serve residents under 60 and those with advanced dementia conditions.
Clinical oversight is reinforced by an RN or LPN on staff, a nurse on call 24 hours a day, and an awake night shift. Background checks are standard for all employees. Safety measures include door alarms, a fenced rear area, pull cords, and personal emergency response systems that alert staff. On-site podiatry visits reduce the need for outside appointments. Legacy Village provides full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and can accommodate mobility needs ranging from standby support to one- or two-person transfers for residents who use walkers or wheelchairs.
Accommodations range in size and layout and may feature private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, and cable access; not every unit includes every feature, so prospective residents should confirm availability. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are provided, and residents have the option to personalize their space with paint or décor to suit their preferences.
Meals are offered through both a set menu and an on-order option, with snacks available throughout the day. A private dining room can be reserved for family visits. The kitchen team manages a variety of dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chop, puréed, and thickened-liquid diets, as well as other physician-ordered modifications.
Legacy Village of Athens offers resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, an exercise room, movie room, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services, and a barber/beauty shop. Pets are allowed; it's a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. Scheduled transportation helps residents reach medical appointments and local destinations.
