Brookdale Tequesta delivers both Assisted Living and Memory Care, so residents who need everyday support or who are living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia can remain in one setting even as needs change. The community is equipped to manage residents who wander at any time of day, exhibit exit‐seeking behavior, display aggression or other challenging behaviors, stay awake overnight, or require wound care, oxygen therapy, or special diets. Support is also available for adults under 60 as well as for diabetics whether they use oral medications or insulin injections. Advanced dementia care protocols are in place to accommodate complex cognitive conditions.
A licensed nurse is on-site around the clock, backed by additional RNs/LPNs, an awake night staff, and an activity director. Safety measures include background-checked employees, 24-hour security personnel, fenced outdoor areas, alarmed doors, pull cords in residences, and personal emergency response systems that link directly to staff. On-site podiatry visits reduce the need for outside appointments. Residents who need full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, or toileting receive that help, and the team can handle transfers ranging from standby support to two-person lifts for those who use walkers or wheelchairs.
Residences can include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, basic furnishings, independent temperature controls, cable access, and the option for residents to paint or decorate, though not every apartment offers every feature. Families can review specific layouts during a tour to confirm which amenities are available in each unit.
Dining offers both set menus and made-to-order options, with snacks available throughout the day. The culinary staff manages physician-ordered diet modifications such as low-sodium, diabetic, or texture-altered plans to ensure mealtime aligns with each resident’s medical requirements.
Additional services and amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, outside smoking areas, a barber/beauty shop, movie room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, and on-site religious services. Scheduled transportation helps residents reach off-site appointments or local errands. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
