Candy’s House is licensed for assisted living and is set up to manage a wide range of health needs. The community accepts residents who wander at any time of day, have a history of elopement, display behavioral issues, or remain awake through the night. Clinical capabilities include wound care, oxygen management, and tailored meal planning for special diets. Diabetes oversight is available for residents on oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale regimens, and the team is trained to support people living with advanced dementia and other complex cognitive conditions.
An RN or LPN is on site around the clock, backed up by a 24-hour on-call nurse. All staff members undergo background checks, and there is overnight staffing even when the shift is designated “asleep.” Security measures include door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, and continuous monitoring. A podiatrist visits the building to provide routine foot care. Residents who need full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, or toileting receive hands-on help, and transfer support is available for walkers, wheelchairs, standby needs, and one-person lifts. An activity director coordinates daily engagement programs to round out the care plan.
Private and semi-private rooms are available; some include their own bathroom, while others share facilities. Basic furnishings are provided, and residents are allowed to paint or decorate their space to suit personal preferences. Cable service can be arranged, but not every room has all of these features, so it is best to confirm availability when touring.
Meals are prepared daily and served on a set schedule, but residents can also order alternative selections as needed. Snacks are accessible at any time, and staff members handle diet modifications ranging from low-sodium or low-sugar plans to more specialized physician-ordered regimens. The kitchen team works closely with nursing staff to align meal service with individual care plans, including carbohydrate counting for diabetic residents.
Common-area amenities include designated outdoor smoking areas, full wheelchair accessibility, a barber and beauty salon, a movie room, internet access points, and communal gardens. On-site religious services are offered, and scheduled transportation assists residents with medical appointments and local errands.
