Sunny Days ALF II operates as a residential care home and is equipped to handle a wide range of medical needs. The staff manages wandering behaviors both day and night, addresses elopement risks, and works with residents who present behavioral concerns. Oxygen therapy and specialized dietary plans are available, and the home can admit individuals under 60 years old when clinically appropriate. Diabetes care spans oral medications, insulin injections and sliding-scale management, and the team is trained to support advanced dementia conditions.
Round-the-clock support comes from RNs or LPNs on staff, with a nurse on call 24 hours a day. All employees undergo background checks, a night shift is on duty while residents sleep, and exit doors are alarmed for added safety. A visiting podiatrist is part of the on-site medical services, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Direct care includes full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to one-person assists for walkers and wheelchairs, so residents with varying mobility levels can be accommodated.
Private and semiprivate rooms are available, many of which come furnished, though residents may bring furniture and repaint or decorate if they want a more personal space. Cable television hookups are offered in select rooms; not every accommodation includes every feature, so confirming specific room amenities during a tour is recommended.
Meals are provided three times a day on a set menu, with an option to order alternatives when medically necessary or by preference. Between-meal snacks are stocked and accessible, ensuring residents with diabetic or other dietary requirements can maintain consistent nutrition throughout the day.
Amenities include outdoor smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, an on-site barber and beauty shop and a dedicated movie room. Scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments and errands, and public transit stops are nearby for residents who travel independently. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
