CERTUS at Orange City is a memory-care-only community equipped to manage the full spectrum of dementia, including advanced stages. The team supports residents who wander during the day or night, are at risk for elopement, display combative or other challenging behaviors, stay awake overnight, require wound care, need special diets, are younger than 60, or are diabetics managed with oral medications. Residents may receive full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and staff can accommodate mobility needs ranging from standby supervision to one- or two-person transfers for wheelchair or walker users.
Residents are monitored by a licensed nurse on site 24 hours a day, backed by additional RNs/LPNs, awake night staff, and routine background checks on all employees. Doors are alarmed for added security. On-site clinical services include medication management, incontinence and ambulatory care, hospice coordination, optometry, dentistry, podiatry, physical and occupational therapy, massage therapy, and dedicated programming designed for memory loss. An activity director structures daily cognitive and recreational engagement.
Accommodation options vary; some suites include a private bathroom, independent temperature controls, cable, and the ability for residents or families to paint or decorate. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided. Not every unit offers every feature, so it is advisable to confirm specifics during a tour.
Meals follow a set menu with dietitian oversight for modifications such as diabetic or texture-altered diets. Snacks are available between meals, and staff offer complete assistance with feeding when needed to ensure nutritional goals are met.
The property allows outdoor smoking areas, is fully wheelchair accessible, and offers an on-site barber and beauty salon, an exercise room, community internet access, and scheduled transportation for appointments and outings.
