Sun Coast Retreat offers assisted-living care designed to meet routine and evolving health needs. Licensed staff monitor residents who manage diabetes with oral medication, ensuring timely reminders, glucose checks as ordered, and coordination with the resident’s physician if readings change. The community is also equipped to support individuals living with moderate dementia; caregivers deliver cueing, redirection, and structured daily routines that help residents remain oriented and safe.
Direct care is carried out by team members who have passed background checks, remain awake through the night shift, and are on site around the clock. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and transfer help ranges from standby supervision to one-person lifts for residents who use walkers or wheelchairs. On-site security rounds add another layer of protection, and the staff maintains regular communication with families and medical providers to keep care plans current.
Accommodations include a mix of private and shared suites, each designed for ease of mobility with wide doorways and accessible bathrooms; some layouts add features such as kitchenettes, patio access, or extra storage, though not all accommodations have all the features. Housekeeping, linen service, basic maintenance, and scheduled transportation for medical appointments or local errands are provided.
Meals are prepared in-house three times daily, with menus that accommodate standard, diabetic-friendly, and soft or mechanical diets. Residents order from multiple entrée choices, and snacks are available between meals. Staff offer full assistance in the dining room when needed and can serve meals in apartments if a resident is ill or recovering after a hospitalization.
