Providence Living at Maitland is a dedicated memory care community designed for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of cognitive loss, including advanced dementia. Clinical oversight supports people who wander or attempt elopement, experience behavioral or combative episodes, stay awake all night, require wound care, use oxygen, follow special diets, or need diabetic management—whether by oral medication, insulin injections, or sliding-scale protocols. The team is also experienced in caring for adults under 60 who present with early-onset conditions, ensuring age-appropriate programming and supervision.
Round-the-clock staffing includes an awake night shift, on-site security, and a full-time activity director. Caregivers provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Mobility needs are met through standby supervision, one-person or two-person transfers, and support for residents who use walkers or wheelchairs. The goal is to deliver consistent, prompt help so residents can maintain their highest practical level of independence while staying safe.
Residences are available in a selection of private or companion layouts, each with emergency call systems, accessible bathrooms, and individual climate controls; some suites add features such as courtyard views or built-in storage. Families should confirm during a tour which specific features are present in the room they are considering. Weekly housekeeping and linen service are standard, and maintenance staff handle repairs to keep living spaces functional and secure.
Meals are prepared on site, with menus reviewed by a registered dietitian to honor physician-ordered restrictions, including low-sodium, renal, gluten-free, and diabetic considerations. Residents receive three daily meals plus snacks, and staff provide full dining assistance when needed. A private dining room can be reserved for family visits, allowing loved ones to share a meal in a quieter setting.
Amenities include a barber and beauty shop, a welcoming reception area modeled after a spa, and a health club offering both exercise classes and therapy services. Creative engagement is encouraged in the Chagall Art Studio and craft room, while pianos on both floors, aviaries, and hallway artwork support sensory stimulation. Expanded eight-foot hallways and memory boxes outside each room aid orientation. A resident kitchen hosts cooking demonstrations, and the community schedules a dynamic calendar of events. Housekeeping and maintenance services are provided so residents can focus on daily activities instead of chores.
