The Canopy At Duval Station offers Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care in a single campus, making transitions easier if residents’ needs change. Residents with complex health profiles are accepted, including those who wander at any time of day, have a history of elopement, present combative or other behavioral issues, stay up all night, require oxygen, follow special diets, or are younger than 60. The community also manages all forms of diabetes—oral medication, injections, and sliding scale—and supports advanced dementia conditions.
An RN or LPN is on staff around the clock, and a nurse is physically on-site 24 hours a day. Staff members are background-checked, the night shift is awake, and the building maintains 24-hour security with fenced outdoor areas. Residents can summon help with in-room pull cords or personal emergency response systems. On-site podiatry, audiology, and a therapy room reduce the need for outside appointments. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, and toileting, while eating support is provided as needed. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to one-person assists for walkers and wheelchairs.
Accommodations include studios and one-bedroom apartments, some with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable, and the option to paint or decorate the space. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided. Not every unit has every feature, so it is advisable to confirm specific details during a tour.
Meals are prepared to order, and snacks are available throughout the day. A private dining room can be reserved for family gatherings. The culinary team handles diet modifications such as mechanical-chopped meals, purées, thickened liquids, vegetarian options, and other physician-ordered diets.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise and movie rooms, internet access, on-site religious services, concierge assistance, a library, special-interest clubs, and scheduled transportation for appointments and outings. Pets are allowed; it's a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
