The Canopy At Beacon Woods provides both Assisted Living and dedicated Memory Care, allowing residents to remain on the same campus even as needs change. Care teams are prepared to manage common dementia‐related challenges, including residents who wander during the day or at night, those with a known history of elopement, and individuals who stay awake through the overnight hours. Special dietary oversight is available, and clinical staff manage diabetes for residents on oral medication as well as those requiring insulin injections. The community accepts and supports residents with advanced dementia, building care plans that prioritize safety, medication adherence and routine.
Direct care is delivered by staff who have passed background checks and who are on site and awake 24 hours a day. Emergency response pendants immediately alert team members, and the building maintains continual security coverage. Certified caregivers offer full assistance with bathing, dressing and toileting, while mealtime support is available for residents who need some physical help eating. Mobility assistance ranges from standby help to one-person transfers, and staff are comfortable assisting residents who rely on walkers or wheelchairs. An activity director coordinates daily programming designed to keep residents engaged and appropriately stimulated throughout the day and evening.
Resident apartments may feature private bathrooms, kitchenettes, individual climate controls and cable service, and all receive regular housekeeping and scheduled laundry; however, not every unit includes every amenity, so it is useful to review floor plans during a visit to confirm specific features that matter most to you or your family member.
Meals are prepared by the culinary team and served three times a day from a set menu, yet residents can order alternatives if they prefer something different. Snacks are available between meals, and a private dining room can be reserved for family gatherings. The kitchen is able to modify textures, portion sizes and ingredients to meet clinical diet orders or personal preferences, ensuring that residents with diabetes, swallowing issues or other dietary needs receive safe and appropriate meals.
Community amenities include outdoor areas where smoking is permitted, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, an on-site barber and beauty shop, internet access, religious services, concierge assistance and scheduled transportation for appointments or errands. Pets are allowed, and it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
