Merriment Assisted Living Residence provides two levels of licensed care: Assisted Living for residents who need predictable help with daily routines and Memory Care for those living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, including advanced stages. Both programs operate under the same roof, allowing transitions without relocation as needs change. The community is prepared to admit residents who wander during the day or at night, have elopement risk, display combative or other behavioral challenges, or are younger than sixty. Staff members monitor diabetics on oral medications and follow physician-ordered special diets.
Nursing staff coordinate directly with outside physicians and psychiatric professionals, accepting residents with documented psychiatric diagnoses. Background-checked caregivers are on site around the clock to provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to one-person pivot moves for individuals using walkers or wheelchairs. Perimeter security, door alarms, and routine safety rounds supplement supervision for residents who may attempt to exit. Individual care plans are reviewed regularly to match any change in physical or cognitive status.
Resident rooms are offered in several layouts, some private and some shared. Cable service is available, although not every unit includes this feature, so prospective residents should verify availability during a tour. Basic maintenance, weekly housekeeping, and linen service are provided, and residents may furnish their spaces with personal belongings to create a familiar environment.
Meals are prepared on site and served three times daily, with snacks available between seatings. The culinary team accommodates physician-ordered diets, including low-sugar and heart-healthy menus, and coordinates with nursing staff on texture-modified meals for residents who require them. Memory Care diners eat in a smaller setting with added cueing and staff presence to encourage consistent nutrition and hydration.
