The Meridian at Waterways provides three levels of residential care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—within one campus. Residents with early memory loss through advanced dementia can remain on site as needs change, and specialized Memory Care programming is designed to address the challenges of advanced dementia. Ongoing medical oversight includes diabetes management, regular physician visits, and access to an on-site speech therapist. Short-term respite stays are accepted, allowing caregivers to plan breaks or transitions with clinical support already in place.
Around-the-clock nursing coverage is standard: an RN or LPN is on site 24 hours a day, with an additional nurse on call after hours. All staff members undergo background checks, and the building maintains 24-hour security with awake night staff. Residents can summon help through pull cords and personal emergency response systems that alert staff directly. On-site podiatry visits reduce the need for outside appointments. Assistance with daily activities is offered at differing levels—full help with bathing, dressing, and toileting; partial support with meals; and mobility help ranging from standby supervision to one-person transfers for walkers or wheelchairs.
Apartments are available in several layouts, some featuring private bathrooms, kitchenettes, individual climate controls, cable, and the option to paint or decorate. Not every unit offers every feature, so it is advisable to confirm the specifics of each floor plan during a tour. Independent Living residents can add medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, personal laundry, and a monthly meal plan while retaining control of their own schedules.
Dining follows a set menu, with snacks available throughout the day and the kitchen able to adjust for physician-ordered or preference-based diet modifications. Meals are served in a common dining room, but residents who are ill or recovering can have trays delivered to their apartments. Nutrition staff work with clinical teams to ensure dietary compliance for diabetes care and other medical conditions.
The community includes resident parking, step-free accessibility for wheelchairs, a barber and beauty shop, exercise and wellness rooms, a movie room, and high-speed internet. On-site religious services are scheduled regularly. Scheduled transportation is offered for medical appointments and errands, and the property is close to public transit stops for those who still drive or prefer independent outings. Pets are allowed; it's a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
