Lindsay’s Alternative Care is a residential care home that delivers hands-on support for residents who need daily assistance but do not require a dementia-specific setting. The care team can manage wandering, elopement risk, combative or other behavioral concerns, nighttime wakefulness, wound care, oxygen use, special diets, and diabetes of every type—oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. Full-service help is available with bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and a range of transfer needs that span walkers, wheelchairs, standby supervision, one-person, and two-person assists. On-site podiatry is offered, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric conditions.
Round-the-clock oversight is built into daily operations. An RN or LPN is on staff, a nurse is on call 24 hours a day, and caregivers remain awake on night shifts. Background checks are standard for all employees. Safety measures include 24-hour staffing, fenced outdoor areas, alarmed doors, and Wander Guard technology to reduce exit-seeking. These systems work together to give families clear information about how the home controls risk while still promoting resident mobility.
Private and semi-private rooms are available; some come furnished, include a private bathroom, have cable service, and may be personalized with paint or décor, while others may not feature every option. Set menus, made-to-order selections, and frequent snacks cover daily nutrition, and the kitchen accommodates physician-ordered or preference-based diet modifications.
Independent-living residents on the same campus can choose medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, and a monthly meal plan, allowing them to stay in one location even as care needs change.
Residents have access to an exercise room, a movie room, internet service, communal gardens, and outdoor smoking areas. Parking is provided, the building is wheelchair accessible, and scheduled transportation is available; public transit stops are also nearby. Pets are allowed—it's a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
