Jefferson House is a dedicated Memory Care community prepared to manage a broad range of cognitive and medical needs. Residents who wander—whether day or night—are accepted, and the team has protocols for elopement risk, combative or behavioral concerns, and individuals who stay up all night. Clinical support includes wound care, oxygen management, special diets, and the full spectrum of diabetic care, from oral medications to injections and sliding-scale insulin. Staff are trained to work with advanced dementia conditions, ensuring each resident receives consistent, condition-appropriate oversight.
Care delivery is reinforced by a licensed nurse on site 24 hours a day and continuous staffing and security. The building’s fenced rear area, WanderGuard system, and in-room pull cords help reduce risk and speed response times. On-site podiatry visits limit the need for outside appointments. Residents who need full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, or toileting receive hands-on help, and mobility needs are met through standby support, walker and wheelchair transfers, or one-person lifts when required.
The community offers a range of accommodation styles. Some rooms include a private bathroom, basic furnishings, independent temperature controls, and cable access. Because not every unit has every feature, prospective residents and families should confirm specific room details during a tour.
Dining follows a set menu structured around balanced meals, with snacks available between scheduled service times. The kitchen team provides diet modifications for medical or personal requirements, including the special diets needed for diabetes management and other health conditions supported on site.
Amenities include wheelchair-accessible common areas, an in-house barber and beauty shop, and a wellness center where routine exercise or therapy sessions are coordinated. Jefferson House is located across from the Booth Gardner Parkinson’s Care Center and offers scheduled transportation while also being close to public transit options, making medical visits and local outings more convenient.
