The Residence at Glastonbury offers three levels of care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—to meet a wide range of health needs. Staff are trained to manage wandering behaviors in the morning or evening, elopement risks, behavioral issues, and advanced dementia. Residents who require oxygen therapy, special diets, or diabetic management—whether by oral medication, injections, or sliding‐scale monitoring—receive coordinated oversight. This coverage allows the community to adapt when a resident’s medical status changes, limiting the need for an outside move.
Care delivery is supported by licensed nurses on site around the clock, with RNs or LPNs available for clinical oversight and awake staff on every night shift. Background checks, 24-hour security personnel, and in-room pull cords linked to the Personal Emergency Response System provide multiple safeguards. On-site medical services include podiatry, audiology, a therapy room for rehab sessions, and the ability to accept residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Personal assistance can be scaled from standby help to full aid with bathing, dressing, eating, or toileting, and mobility support ranges from walkers and wheelchairs to two-person transfers or a Hoyer lift.
Apartments can feature private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable, and regular housekeeping, although not every unit contains every item. Independent Living residents receive weekly housekeeping and laundry services so they can focus on daily routines rather than chores. The goal is to maintain autonomy while ensuring a practical level of support for changing needs.
Dining is prepared to order, with snacks available throughout the day and a private dining room for family gatherings. Menus accommodate physician-ordered diet modifications, whether for diabetes, low sodium requirements, or texture adjustments. Residents in any care level receive the same access to personalized meal planning to keep nutrition consistent with medical directives.
Community amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, concierge desk, library, special-interest clubs, and proximity to public transportation. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
