Brookdale Gables Farmington offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living, allowing residents to select the level of support that best matches their needs while remaining in the same community should circumstances change. The clinical team can monitor and manage oxygen therapy, provide special-diet meal plans, and admit residents under age 60 when appropriate. Diabetic care is available for individuals on either oral medications or insulin injections, and staff are trained to recognize and respond to mild dementia conditions so that residents with early cognitive changes may remain safely on campus.
Care delivery is supported by an RN or LPN on site, with a nurse on call 24 hours a day. All employees complete background checks, and an awake night staff monitors the community alongside 24-hour security personnel. Emergency pull cords and Personal Emergency Response Systems route alerts directly to trained staff. On-site services include visiting podiatrists, audiology visits, a therapy room, and acceptance of residents with certain psychiatric diagnoses. Full-assistance help is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and the team can accommodate mobility needs ranging from standby help with a walker to two-person transfers or a full Hoyer lift.
Apartments vary in size and layout, but many feature private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate for personal comfort. Some units come pre-furnished, while others allow residents to bring their own furnishings. Housekeeping is provided, and scheduled linen service is available even for residents whose apartments have in-unit washers and dryers. Because layouts differ, not every residence includes all listed features.
Meals are prepared to order, with daily snacks available and a private dining room for family celebrations. The culinary team can modify textures, restrict sodium or sugar, and otherwise tailor menus to individual medical needs. Independent Living residents may choose to continue handling some meals themselves in their kitchenettes while still benefiting from medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, and laundry services arranged specifically for the Independent Living program.
Resident amenities include on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty salon, exercise and movie rooms, a wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, a library, special-interest clubs, and scheduled religious services. Scheduled transportation as well as proximity to public transit help residents reach appointments and local shopping. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
