Brookdale Highlands Ranch is a dedicated memory-care community equipped to work with residents who have all stages of dementia, including advanced conditions. The care team manages medical needs related to wandering or elopement risk, combative or other behavioral issues, nighttime wakefulness, wound care, oxygen use, diabetes managed by either oral medication or injections, and specialized diets. Residents younger than 60 can also be accommodated when memory-care support is required.
Care delivery is reinforced by an RN or LPN on staff, a nurse on call around the clock, an awake night shift, and a full activity program overseen by a director. All employees undergo background checks, and safety measures include 24-hour staffed security, alarmed doors, fenced outdoor areas, and resident pull cords that alert staff. On-site podiatry is available, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric conditions. Assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting can be provided at a full-assistance level, and mobility support ranges from standby help to one- or two-person transfers for residents using walkers or wheelchairs.
Private or semi-private accommodations feature en-suite bathrooms, furnished options, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the ability for residents or families to paint or decorate the space. Not every room offers every feature, so it is wise to verify specific room details during a visit.
Meals are served from a set menu with routine snack availability, and the kitchen can adjust for physician-ordered diet modifications, including diabetic, low-sodium, and other special dietary plans.
Community amenities include outdoor smoking areas, pet-friendly policies, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, an exercise room, a wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, and on-site religious services. Scheduled transportation helps residents reach medical appointments and local destinations. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
