Merrill Gardens at Santa Maria offers three primary levels of care—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—so residents can remain in the same community even as their needs change. Memory Care staff receive specialized training and work within clearly defined levels of care; this allows the team to support residents who have diabetes, require speech therapy, or need short-term respite stays without moving them off campus.
Additional medical support is anchored by an emergency call system that links residents directly to staff around the clock. On-site services include regular nursing oversight, medication management, incontinence care, ambulatory support, hospice coordination, and visits from dentists and podiatrists. Caregivers provide some physical assistance with bathing, eating, and dressing, and can give full assistance with toileting. Transfer help is available for individuals who use walkers or wheelchairs or who only need standby supervision.
Apartments are designed for practical day-to-day living and are paired with routine housekeeping and scheduled laundry services. Floor plans vary, and not every apartment includes every feature, so it is best to confirm specific details during a tour.
Meals are prepared on site, and the Bistro Café serves as the community’s central dining venue. Residents receive three daily meals with menu options that can accommodate common dietary restrictions, plus snacks and beverages throughout the day.
Amenities include a barber and beauty shop, a wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, and a library. Pets are allowed. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
