Westwind Memory Care offers both Assisted Living and dedicated Memory Care for residents with moderate dementia, including those who wander or exhibit behavioral changes. The community is designed specifically to accommodate memory loss and operates as a memory-care–only environment within the larger assisted-living framework, ensuring continuity of support as needs progress.
Round-the-clock oversight is handled by RNs and LPNs who coordinate medication management, ambulatory and incontinence care, occupational and physical therapy, and hospice services when required. Night shifts are fully awake, background checks are standard for all staff, and residents can signal for help through pull cords or personal emergency response systems. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and caregivers can manage transfers involving walkers, wheelchairs, standby supervision, or a one-person lift.
Accommodation options may include outdoor areas, wheelchair-accessible showers, Wi-Fi, cable or satellite TV, air conditioning, and spaces such as a butterfly garden or music room with a piano or organ. Layouts are handicap accessible, yet not every residence contains every feature, so prospective families should confirm availability during a tour.
Meals are prepared by a professional chef who can produce international, kosher, vegetarian, vegan, organic, gluten-free, low- or no-sodium, and no-sugar dishes. All-day dining and guest meals are offered, and portions can be adapted for residents who require full assistance with eating.
Residents can use wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, an exercise room, movie room, wellness center, communal gardens, internet access points, concierge services, and a library.
