Villa Serena Retirement Community offers Independent Living with an emphasis on practical medical support. Residents who use oxygen, follow special diets, manage diabetes with oral medication, or are under 60 years old can all be accommodated. The community can also serve individuals with mild dementia conditions. On-site medical services include routine medication management and scheduled visits from a podiatrist, reducing the need for outside appointments and helping residents maintain consistent care.
Around-the-clock staffing and security are in place. Background-checked team members are on site 24 hours a day, with an awake night shift and Personal Emergency Response System alerts that signal staff immediately. The community is fenced at the rear, and security personnel monitor the grounds. An activity director organizes daily programming. Assistance with activities of daily living is available: staff can provide some physical help with bathing, dressing, and toileting, while eating support is offered on a standby basis. Transfer assistance ranges from simple standby supervision to one-person transfers using a walker or wheelchair.
Residences may feature private bathrooms, kitchenettes, furnishings, individual temperature controls, cable service, and the option to repaint or redecorate, though not every unit includes every feature. Housekeeping services are provided for Independent Living residents, keeping spaces clean without the need for outside help.
Dining operates on an on-order basis, allowing residents to choose their meals at each sitting. Snacks are available throughout the day, and kitchen staff can modify menus to meet physician-ordered diet plans, including diabetic and other special diets. Independent Living occupants can opt into a monthly meal plan that bundles their dining costs into predictable payments.
Shared amenities include resident parking, designated outdoor smoking areas, and full wheelchair accessibility. A barber/beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, and wellness center are located on site, as are internet access points and communal gardens for informal gatherings. Religious services are available within the community. Scheduled transportation is provided, and the campus is close to public transit options. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
