AlmaVia of San Rafael provides both Assisted Living and Memory Care, allowing residents to transition between levels of support without leaving the community. Daily medical oversight covers diabetes management, on-site physician visits, routine speech therapy, structured mental-wellness programming, short-term respite stays and scheduled physical therapy sessions.
The community maintains a wander-guard–style system within a fully secured setting. Between 12 and 16 hours each day, licensed nurses are on premises to handle medication management, stroke care, incontinence support and ambulatory assistance. Residents have access to speech and occupational therapy, as well as on-site services from dentists, podiatrists, physical therapists and hospice professionals. An enclosed courtyard supports safe outdoor time for Memory Care residents, while staff remain trained in both Assisted and Independent Living protocols to adapt care as needs change.
Apartment options may include kitchenettes, wheelchair-accessible showers, cable, Wi-Fi, in-room phones and resident parking, though not every unit contains every feature. Common spaces feature a well-stocked library, a combined library and computer lounge, multiple outdoor areas and an organized garden. Cats are welcome in designated units, and general pet-friendly policies apply; prospective residents should confirm specific pet guidelines during a tour.
Three meals are prepared daily, with all-day dining options that let residents choose mealtimes that fit their routines. Menus emphasize balanced nutrition, and healthy snacks are kept available between meals to meet dietary or medication-timing needs.
Residents can take part in scheduled health and wellness programs, arts and crafts workshops, a dedicated activity center, and clubs designed around shared interests. Indoor walking paths, light therapy sessions and reminiscence programs support physical movement and cognitive engagement, while regular social outings help residents stay connected to the larger San Rafael community.
