Villaggio San Luis Obispo offers three distinct levels of residential care—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—under one roof. Independent Living residents maintain an active lifestyle while still having the reassurance of on-site licensed nursing staff and 24-hour response systems. Assisted Living residents receive help with activities of daily living, medication management, and routine health monitoring, delivered by trained caregivers and supervised by nurses. Memory Care is provided in a secured section of the community and features specialized programming, structured daily routines, and staff members who have been trained in dementia care protocols for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Beyond the primary levels of care, the community develops individualized service plans for each resident after a comprehensive assessment that includes input from physicians and family members. On-site rehabilitation services, regular wellness checks, fall-prevention programs, and scheduled transportation to medical appointments support residents’ overall health. Each apartment is equipped with an emergency call system that links directly to the care team, and the building has backup power to keep critical medical equipment running during outages. Coordination with local hospitals and pharmacies helps ensure continuity of care whenever a resident needs outside services.
Accommodations range from compact studios to more spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments, and each layout includes safety-oriented features such as grab bars in bathrooms and non-slip flooring. Select units add kitchenettes, private patios, in-unit washers and dryers, or extra storage, but not every apartment has every feature. Weekly housekeeping, laundry service, basic utilities, and routine maintenance are included, and residents can request additional services for a fee if needed.
The culinary program provides three meals a day served restaurant-style in the main dining room, with lighter fare and snacks available between mealtimes. A registered dietitian reviews menus to accommodate low-sodium, diabetic, and other physician-ordered diets, and pureed or mechanically altered meals can be prepared for residents with swallowing difficulties. For social gatherings or family visits, a private dining room can be reserved. Meals can also be delivered to apartments temporarily when a resident is recovering from illness or prefers to dine privately.
