MorningStar at West Valley is a dedicated memory care community equipped to support residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Licensed nurses oversee care around the clock, managing medications, monitoring chronic conditions and coordinating with outside physicians to keep clinical information current. Each resident receives an individualized care plan that is regularly reviewed and adjusted as needs evolve, and specially trained caregivers use evidence-based techniques to address behavioral changes, ensure safety and encourage engagement.
Beyond direct medical oversight, the community integrates a range of supportive services intended to maintain residents’ cognitive function and physical health. Physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions can be arranged on site, and visiting specialists such as podiatrists and dentists reduce the need for outside appointments. A secured environment with controlled entry points helps prevent wandering while allowing freedom of movement within common areas, and an electronic health record system ensures that any change in condition is communicated promptly to family and healthcare providers.
Accommodations include private and companion suites laid out to minimize confusion and make navigation straightforward. Units may feature emergency call systems, individual climate controls, accessible bathrooms and basic kitchenettes, but not every suite contains every amenity. Maintenance, weekly housekeeping and linen service are provided, and staff handle regular safety checks so residents and families do not have to worry about day-to-day upkeep.
Meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen under the guidance of a registered dietitian who tailors menus to meet dietary restrictions such as low-sodium or diabetic needs. Three daily meals are served restaurant-style in a central dining room, and snack stations remain open throughout the day to support residents whose eating schedules vary. Family members are welcome to join meals with advance notice, and adaptive utensils are available for anyone who needs extra assistance.
