Canyon Villas offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living, allowing residents to move between levels of support without leaving the community. For those in Assisted Living, the staff can monitor and respond to residents who wander during the day or night, manage combative or other behavioral issues, and care for individuals who stay up throughout the night. Clinical capabilities cover wound care, oxygen management, special diet oversight, and diabetes management—whether residents rely on oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. The community can also admit adults under 60 when their care needs match the services provided. While a wide range of medical conditions is supported, the community does not offer a dedicated dementia or memory-care program.
Round-the-clock clinical oversight is provided by an RN or LPN, and an awake night shift ensures continual supervision. All employees undergo background checks, and security measures include door alarms, personal emergency response systems, pull cords, and 24-hour on-site staffing. Outside providers visit regularly for podiatry, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Full-assistance is available with bathing, dressing, and toileting, while partial help can be given at mealtimes. Transfer capabilities range from standby help for walkers to one- and two-person assists, full transfers with a Hoyer lift, and services for bed-bound residents.
Accommodations vary, but residents may choose suites that include a private bathroom, kitchenette, basic furnishings, individual climate controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided, and staff can adjust these services to match a resident’s functional level. Not every room has every listed feature, so it is best to confirm availability during a tour.
Meals follow a set menu that can be modified for therapeutic and physician-ordered diets. Snacks are available outside scheduled mealtimes, and staff oversee special diets such as low-sugar or low-sodium plans. Independent Living residents can opt into a monthly meal plan, work with staff for medication monitoring, and receive periodic housekeeping and laundry service.
Residents have access to on-site parking, exterior smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, a barber and beauty salon, an exercise room, internet connectivity, communal gardens, and scheduled religious services. The building includes a stair glide for easier access between levels, as well as a library and computer lab. Transportation services are offered, and the property sits close to public transit options, making off-site appointments and errands straightforward.
