The Gardens of Riverside is a secured memory-care community that provides a single, focused level of care for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. Short-term respite stays are available, and staff members are trained to address diabetes management and offer on-site speech therapy when needed. Medical oversight extends to incontinence support, ambulatory assistance, hospice coordination, medication management, and routine visits from physical, occupational, and speech therapists. A dentist and podiatrist come to the community on a scheduled basis, eliminating the need for most outside appointments.
Care features are organized around safety and continuity. The building and outdoor areas are secured to reduce the risk of wandering, and every space is designed to minimize confusion and support memory retention. Round-the-clock staffing allows for prompt response to health changes, while care plans are reviewed regularly to keep pace with each resident’s needs. Because the property serves memory-care residents exclusively, programming, staffing ratios, and the physical environment are all calibrated for this population.
Private and companion suites are available, and many include wheelchair-accessible showers, in-room climate control, and cable or satellite TV, though not every unit offers every feature. Wi-Fi access is available in most areas, and ground-level rooms enable easier entry to outdoor spaces such as the butterfly garden, patio seating, and resident parking. Shared common rooms include a piano or organ for informal music sessions.
Three meals a day are prepared on-site and served in a central dining room, with all-day dining options for residents who prefer flexible schedules. The kitchen staff can accommodate kosher, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, low-sodium, and no-sugar diets, and guest meals can be arranged with advance notice. Menus are created to meet nutritional guidelines while remaining familiar and easy to manage for residents with cognitive impairment.
Residents have access to an activity center, library and computer lounge, indoor and outdoor walking paths, raised garden beds, and a swimming pool for low-impact exercise. Scheduled programming includes Montessori-based activities, reminiscence and sensory sessions, karaoke, live music, dances, birthday celebrations, and intergenerational visits. Clubs and community groups meet regularly, and social outings are arranged for those able to leave the campus.
