Sunrise of Canyon Crest is an assisted-living community equipped to serve residents with a wide range of medical and behavioral needs. The care team accepts individuals who wander at any time of day, present elopement risks, or display combative or other challenging behaviors, and it is able to serve residents who stay awake through the night. Nurses oversee wound care, oxygen management, specialized diets, and oral-medication diabetic management. Advanced dementia is supported, and staff can provide total assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from supervision during walker use to two-person transfers and bed-bound care, ensuring residents with varying mobility levels can be safely moved.
Daily clinical oversight is reinforced by an on-site registered or licensed practical nurse, awake night staff, and an activity director who tailors programs to each resident’s abilities. Security features include 24-hour staffing, a fully fenced rear area, door alarms, WanderGuard technology, pull cords, and personal emergency response systems that alert staff immediately. All employees undergo background checks. Podiatry services are offered on site, reducing the need for outside appointments and providing continuity of care.
Suites can include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to paint or otherwise decorate the space, though not every accommodation offers every feature. Residents may choose layouts that fit their preferences for privacy and convenience while still being close to care staff.
Meals are prepared to order, with snacks available throughout the day. The culinary team manages diet modifications for clinical needs such as low-sugar, low-sodium, or texture-modified menus, coordinating closely with nursing staff to align with each resident’s care plan.
Residents have access to on-site parking, wheelchair-friendly common areas, a barber and beauty shop, movie room, wellness center, internet connectivity, communal gardens, religious services, and scheduled transportation as well as proximity to public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
