Truewood by Merrill in Pinole provides Independent Living as its primary level of care. Residents who use oxygen or manage diabetes with oral medication will find staff trained to supervise those needs. While the community does not support dementia conditions, it does maintain on-site medication management so prescriptions are stored, dispensed and monitored by qualified personnel.
Additional day-to-day assistance is available for residents who need help with self-care activities such as bathing, dressing, eating or toileting. An activity director coordinates daily programs, and the property’s front and rear fencing add a layer of security. Transfers are accommodated for both walker and wheelchair users, keeping mobility support straightforward.
Apartments are designed for Independent Living and may feature a kitchenette, individual temperature controls or basic cable; availability of these features varies by unit. Independent Living residents can also enroll in a monthly meal plan or add medication-management monitoring to their service package for an additional fee.
Meals are prepared on site, and the kitchen can handle on-order selections so residents can choose dishes that meet their preferences or dietary requirements. Snacks are stocked throughout the day and evening for anyone who wants a light bite outside scheduled dining hours, keeping nutrition flexible.
The campus offers resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber/beauty shop, movie room, internet service, and on-site religious programs. Scheduled transportation and proximity to public transit make off-site appointments and outings manageable. Outdoor smoking is permitted, and pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
