Pasadena Highlands offers two primary levels of care: Assisted Living for residents who need help with daily tasks and Memory Care for those with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. Short-term Respite stays are available for recovery after an illness or when a family caregiver is unavailable, and the community’s Mental Wellness Program supports residents dealing with depression or anxiety. Diabetes management is coordinated by the clinical team, and all residents benefit from individualized service plans that adapt as needs change.
Medical support is reinforced by a 12- to 16-hour nursing presence each day, an emergency call system in all apartments, and on-site medication management. Occupational, physical and podiatry services are scheduled on campus, reducing the need for outside appointments. The team can coordinate hospice care, manage continence and mobility challenges, and supervise ambulatory assistance. An enclosed courtyard gives Memory Care residents a secure outdoor option, and laundry and dry-cleaning services are handled in-house to lessen daily burdens.
Apartments range from studio and efficiency layouts to larger suites, with features such as kitchenettes, wheelchair-accessible showers, air conditioning, phone, cable or satellite TV, and Wi-Fi included in the monthly rate. Some units add balconies, patios, or decks, and residents have access to indoor common areas, a library with a computer lounge, and resident parking. Utilities are included, and not every accommodation contains every feature, so prospective residents can choose the layout that best fits their needs. Cats are welcome in designated apartments, and the entire building is designed with handicap-accessible routes for easy movement.
Dining operates on an all-day schedule in a restaurant-style setting, allowing residents to choose mealtimes that suit their routines. A professional chef prepares three daily meals, offering vegetarian selections, heart-healthy options, and guest meals for visiting family members. Between meals, residents can pick up healthy snacks, and seasonal BBQs or outdoor picnics take place on the patio when weather permits.
Residents can stay active with bingo, an activity center, social outings, a swimming pool, arts and crafts workshops, yoga and stretching classes, and regular birthday parties. Indoor walking paths and a movie or theater room provide year-round options, while day trips, wine tastings, and gardening club cater to varied interests. Off-site activities, clubs and community groups, fitness programs, and game room tournaments fill the weekly calendar, giving residents multiple ways to socialize and stay engaged.
