Five Star Senior Care is licensed as a Residential Care Home and is equipped to manage a wide range of health needs. The community accepts residents with moderate dementia and can handle wandering, elopement risk, combative or other behavioral issues, as well as those who are up all night. Clinical support extends to wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, younger residents under 60, and diabetics on oral medication. Transfer assistance is available for people who walk with a walker, use a wheelchair, need standby help, require one- or two-person transfers, or are bed-bound.
Registered nurses or licensed practical nurses are on staff and a nurse is on call 24 hours a day. Team members are background-checked, and an awake night shift monitors residents. Safety is reinforced with fenced outdoor areas, door alarms, and a PERS alert system that notifies staff. A credentialed activity director coordinates daily engagement. On-site podiatry is offered, and the home accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Staff provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.
Resident rooms may include a private bathroom, basic furnishings, cable service, and the option to repaint or decorate; however, not every accommodation has each of these features, so it is best to confirm availability during a visit. The community is wheelchair accessible throughout all residential areas.
Meals follow a set menu prepared to meet standard nutritional guidelines, and snacks are available between meals. The kitchen can adjust textures, portion sizes, and ingredients to accommodate physician-ordered or preference-based diet modifications.
Additional amenities include designated outdoor smoking areas, community-wide internet access, and scheduled transportation for medical appointments or personal errands. Pets are allowed. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
