Whispering Oaks Yankee is a residential care home designed for residents who need consistent medical oversight without the formality of a skilled nursing facility. The team is experienced in supporting people who wander, live with behavioral challenges, require wound care, depend on oxygen, follow special diets, take oral diabetic medications, or are under 60 years old. Advanced dementia care is available, and care plans are adjusted as conditions progress to make sure clinical needs remain met.
An RN or LPN is on staff, background checks are completed on employees, and both awake and asleep night-shift coverage are scheduled for uninterrupted monitoring. The building uses door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, wander guards, and pull-cord alert systems for added safety. On-site podiatry visits reduce the need for outside appointments. Staff provide full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, standby supervision, one- or two-person transfers, Hoyer lifts, and bed-bound care.
Private rooms are available, some with their own bathrooms and cable service. Furnishings are provided, and residents may paint or decorate subject to community guidelines. Because room layouts differ, not every accommodation includes all listed features; availability should be confirmed during a visit.
Meals follow a set menu prepared to meet physician-ordered diets, including low-sodium, diabetic, or other specialized plans. Snacks are stocked throughout the day, and staff give hands-on assistance at mealtimes when needed to ensure adequate intake for those who cannot feed themselves independently.
The community is wheelchair accessible and offers a barber and beauty shop, internet access, communal gardens, and on-site religious services. Pets are allowed. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
