Irvine Cottage 4 is licensed as a residential care home and is set up to accept residents with a wide range of medical and cognitive needs. The team is experienced in caring for people who wander, display behavioral issues, require wound care or oxygen therapy, follow physician-ordered special diets, are younger than 60, or manage diabetes with oral medications. Care plans are adjusted to support residents living with advanced dementia, and the home can coordinate with outside medical providers to keep treatment plans current.
Daily care is delivered by caregivers who are supported by an RN or LPN, and every staff member has passed a background check. The home runs both awake and asleep night shifts, so routine monitoring and prompt response are available around the clock. Interior doors are alarmed, the rear yard is fenced, and a wander-guard system plus resident pull cords further enhance safety. On-site podiatry visits reduce the need for outside appointments. Staff provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and toileting, and can handle transfers ranging from standby help to two-person or Hoyer-lift moves for bed-bound residents. Walkers and wheelchairs are readily accommodated.
Private and semi-private rooms are available, and some include an en-suite bathroom. Basic furnishings are supplied, but families are welcome to bring personal items, repaint walls, and add décor to make the space feel familiar. Cable service is offered in selected rooms so residents can keep up with favorite programs.
Meals are prepared from a set menu that rotates to cover nutritional requirements and physician-ordered diet modifications. Snacks are kept on hand throughout the day, and staff members provide total assistance at mealtime for anyone who needs help with cutting, feeding, or fluid monitoring. Special attention is given to residents with diabetes, texture concerns, or calorie-controlled requirements.
Community features include wheelchair-accessible common areas, landscaped gardens for supervised outdoor time, and internet access for staying in touch with family. A barber and beauty shop operates on-site, and clergy visit regularly for religious services. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
