Gardena Retirement Center delivers two primary levels of care—Assisted Living and Memory Care. Residents who choose Assisted Living receive help with activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication reminders, while still retaining as much independence as possible. The dedicated Memory Care program is structured for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, offering secured areas and consistent staff trained to reduce confusion, encourage familiarity, and maintain safety.
Clinical support is broad and on site. The community accommodates Diabetes Care with glucose monitoring and diet management, a Respite program for short-term stays, and a Mental Wellness Program that pairs residents with appropriate counseling and behavioral oversight. Licensed nurses are on duty 12 to 16 hours each day, and practitioners provide vision, podiatry, dental, ambulatory, and incontinence services without the need to leave the building. Additional resources include hospice coordination, medication management, and access to both Assisted Living and Independent Living medical oversight for residents whose needs evolve.
Accommodation options range from studios to larger suites, some with kitchenettes, cable TV, in-room phone lines, and community Wi-Fi. Not every unit offers every feature, so prospective residents should review floor plans carefully. Cats are welcome and the property is pet friendly, and common areas include a library and computer lounge, an outdoor garden, designated parking, and a secure mail room.
Dining is handled on site with three meals each day and flexible nutrition choices. Standard menus emphasize low-sodium entrees, healthy snacks, and vegetarian selections, while kosher and gluten-free options are available by request. Meals are served in a shared dining room, but residents who prefer privacy can have food delivered to their apartments when health or personal preference requires it.
Daily life is rounded out with scheduled social outings, shopping trips, resident clubs, bingo games, arts and crafts sessions, television and movie nights, and regular activities in the community center. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
