Aegis Gardens Fremont provides two levels of residential care: Assisted Living for residents who need help with daily activities and a secure Memory Care program built for people living with moderate dementia. Staff are trained to manage exit-seeking behaviors and to monitor residents who wander. The community can also support individuals who manage diabetes with oral medications, ensuring regular monitoring and medication oversight.
Medical coverage is continuous. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site around the clock, and residents can request help at any hour through the in-suite Personal Emergency Response System. The campus hosts visiting or on-staff nurses, occupational and physical therapists, a podiatrist and hospice professionals. Suites and common areas are laid out specifically to reduce confusion for Memory Care residents. Personal care includes some assistance with bathing and toileting, and full assistance with eating and dressing when needed. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to a one-person physical assist for residents using walkers or wheelchairs.
Living quarters are offered in several layouts. Some apartments include a private bathroom, some offer a kitchenette, and basic furnishings are available, although residents may bring familiar items from home. Housekeeping is provided weekly, and residents who live in the Independent Living section can opt for additional light housekeeping to keep their surroundings tidy without losing autonomy.
Meals follow a set menu that rotates regularly and addresses common dietary needs; snacks are available throughout the day. Care staff are present in the dining room to provide full assistance to residents who need help cutting food or managing utensils, and modified textures are prepared on request.
Residents have access to a fully wheelchair-accessible campus that includes an exercise room, a structured arts program, poker and keeno games, scheduled family video chats, bible study groups, and karaoke sessions for those who enjoy music. These planned activities give residents daily options for social interaction and cognitive engagement, while families can stay connected remotely.
