Parkside Health and Wellness Center offers an Independent Living program with on-site clinical oversight for residents who need it. Licensed nurses monitor chronic conditions and provide medication management for adults under 60 as well as older residents, including those who are diabetic and use either oral medications or insulin injections. Staff are also trained to support individuals with mild dementia, helping them remain safely engaged while preserving as much independence as possible. Around-the-clock personnel and an on-call clinical team ensure rapid response to any change in condition.
Daily living support is available on an as-needed basis. The team can provide some physical assistance with bathing, dressing and toileting, while residents who can self-manage meals have the freedom to do so. Transfer help is available for people who use walkers or wheelchairs. All employees undergo background checks, an awake night shift is always on duty, and 24-hour security staff are on the grounds. An activity director coordinates a full calendar designed to keep residents active and socially connected.
Accommodations range from basic studios to larger suites. Depending on the floor plan, apartments may include a private bathroom, kitchenette, furnished living space, independent temperature controls, cable access and the option to paint or decorate. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are provided, but not every residence contains every listed feature, so prospective residents should verify specifics during a tour. For those in Independent Living, the community adds medication-management monitoring, periodic housekeeping, scheduled laundry and an optional monthly meal plan.
Meals follow a set menu prepared by the culinary staff and served in the communal dining room, with snacks available throughout the day. Residents who prefer a more intimate setting can reserve a private dining room for family events or special occasions. The kitchen accommodates basic dietary restrictions and coordinates with the nursing team to support medically required diets for diabetics or other conditions.
Campus amenities include resident parking, outdoor smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services, concierge desk, library, special-interest clubs and scheduled transportation for shopping or medical appointments. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
