Kathleen Care Home is a residential care home that accepts older adults as well as residents younger than 60. The staff is experienced with complex conditions, including advanced dementia, and is equipped to manage wandering behaviors during both daytime and nighttime hours. Medical support covers wound care, oxygen management, special diets, and diabetes care for residents using oral medications.
A nurse is on call around the clock, and caregivers are on site 24 hours a day. All employees undergo background checks, an asleep night shift is scheduled, and the property has a fenced rear yard, alarmed doors, and in-room pull cords that alert staff. A visiting podiatrist provides on-site foot care. Personal-care assistance is available for bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, each at a full-assistance level if needed. Transfer help ranges from simple standby supervision to two-person transfers and Hoyer-lift support for bed-bound residents. Walkers and wheelchairs are also accommodated.
Rooms come furnished, and residents may repaint or decorate if they choose, though not every room includes every option. Cable service is available in select rooms.
Meals follow a set menu, and the kitchen prepares snacks between meals. The staff can modify meals for diabetic, low-sodium, or other medically prescribed diets as required.
The community is wheelchair accessible and has outdoor smoking areas, communal gardens, internet access, on-site religious services, and arranged transportation for medical or personal appointments. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
