Brookdale Diablo Lodge offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living, enabling residents to step into a setting that matches their present needs while keeping future support close by. Licensed nurses are on duty up to 24 hours, covering 12-16 hour shifts on site and on call afterward, and can manage oxygen therapy, oral and injectable diabetic care, wound care and hospice coordination. A wellness center, visiting podiatrist, physical and occupational therapists, and structured memory-support programming for residents with mild dementia conditions are available without leaving the grounds. Medication management, regular vitals monitoring and coordination with outside physicians round out the medical model.
Daily care is backed by background-checked staff working both awake and asleep night shifts, with an RN or LPN always in the building. Residents can receive full assistance with bathing, dressing and toileting, standby help at meals, and transfers ranging from walker support to two-person or Hoyer lift moves. Pull-cords and wearable PERS devices alert staff, while door alarms and a fenced rear area reduce wandering risks. The community’s hospice, ambulatory and incontinence services allow many residents to remain on campus even as needs change, limiting disruptive moves.
Accommodation options include suites with private bathrooms, some with kitchenettes, independent temperature controls or the option to repaint and decorate; features vary by unit type. Three chef-prepared meals are served daily, and an on-order approach allows residents to choose entrée options at each seating. Grab-and-go snacks are available between meals, and specialized diets are coordinated with nursing and dining teams.
Independent Living residents may select lighter packages that still include weekly housekeeping, linen and personal laundry service, and a monthly meal plan in the main dining room; they can scale up services if their needs grow. All residents may request room-service meals during temporary illness or recovery periods, and laundry and housekeeping are also available à la carte for Assisted Living residents who prefer additional convenience.
Residents have access to reserved parking, community transportation and nearby public transit, and the campus is wheelchair accessible throughout. Amenities include a barber and beauty salon, movie room, arts and crafts studio, concierge desk, wellness center, communal gardens, Internet access and an emergency alert system installed in every residence. Outdoor smoking areas are designated, and the community is pet friendly—It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
