The Lighthouse at Chico offers two primary levels of support—Assisted Living and Memory Care. Residents who choose Assisted Living receive help with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, mobility and medication reminders while still maintaining as much independence as possible. The Memory Care program is designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias and incorporates structured routines, secure living spaces and staff trained to ease confusion and anxiety.
Medical and therapeutic services are delivered on-site to reduce outside appointments. Licensed nurses coordinate with on-call physicians, podiatrists and therapists to provide physical, occupational and speech therapies, manage diabetes and oversee medication regimens. Short-term respite stays are available for recovery after illness or for caregiver relief, and hospice services can be arranged when necessary. A secured community layout, an emergency call system in each apartment and staff available 24/7 support resident safety, with specialized spaces built to accommodate memory loss and incontinence care.
Residential options range from fully furnished studios to larger efficiency layouts, some with kitchenettes, cable TV, Wi-Fi and wheelchair-accessible showers. Air conditioning, housekeeping, laundry service, parking and access to landscaped grounds with outdoor gardens come standard, while select homes add features such as central fireplaces or private patios. The community is pet-friendly and welcomes cats, but not every apartment includes every feature, so prospective residents should confirm specific details during a tour.
Meals are prepared by a professional chef and offered throughout the day rather than at fixed seatings. Menus can be tailored to low-sodium, no-sugar, gluten-free, kosher, vegan or vegetarian requirements, and organic ingredients are used when available. Guests may join residents for meals, and a private dining room can be reserved for family events or celebrations.
Residents have access to an activity center, library and computer lounge, movie room and indoor and outdoor walking paths. Scheduled programs include arts and crafts, bingo, yoga or chair yoga, health and wellness classes, reminiscence and sensory-based sessions, live music, dance or theater performances, birthday parties, social clubs and community outings to local attractions. A swimming pool, day trips and “Live Well” initiatives round out the calendar, encouraging social engagement and physical movement throughout the week.
