The Cottages of Carmel offers two primary levels of care—Assisted Living and Memory Care. Residents who need help with everyday tasks receive consistent assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility, while still maintaining as much independence as possible. For individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, the dedicated Memory Care program provides structured daily routines and specialized oversight that address cognitive changes and reduce confusion.
Additional medical support is incorporated into daily life. The community is secured, adding an extra layer of safety for residents who may wander. Diabetes management, speech therapy, incontinence care, ambulatory support, hospice care, medication management, and a coordinated wellness program are all available on-site. Licensed nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and a visiting podiatrist contribute to routine assessments and treatment plans, allowing residents to remain in familiar surroundings even as their needs change.
Residences are designed to balance comfort with practicality. Floor plans may include wheelchair-accessible showers, outdoor patio access, and the option to keep a small pet. All utilities, including phone service, are covered, and parking is provided for those who still drive. Because layouts vary, not every accommodation contains every feature, so prospective residents and families should verify specific details during a tour.
Dining follows a flexible, resident-focused schedule. Meals are prepared daily and offered throughout the day rather than at fixed times, and restaurant-style service lets residents choose what and when to eat. Standard menus are supplemented with vegetarian selections, and nutritional needs are reviewed to support medical conditions and personal preferences.
Daily life is rounded out with an activity center, outdoor walking paths, a putting green, organized clubs and communities, and scheduled social outings. These options give residents consistent opportunities to stay active, socialize, and engage in familiar hobbies without leaving campus.
