Carmel Valley Manor offers three primary levels of care: Independent Living for residents who manage most daily activities on their own, Assisted Living for those who need help with tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication reminders, and a dedicated Memory Care program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. The community maintains a licensed health center staffed around the clock by registered nurses and certified nursing assistants, and residents have access to on-site physician services, regular health assessments, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Emergency response systems are in place throughout the campus, and care plans are reviewed routinely to adjust services as needs change.
Beyond direct medical support, the community coordinates transportation to outside medical appointments, handles prescription ordering and refills, and offers wellness programs aimed at fall prevention and chronic disease management. Scheduled exercise classes, cognitive fitness sessions, and support groups for residents and families are run by trained staff. An on-site social services team helps residents navigate insurance matters and transitions between care levels, and respite care is available for short-term stays when space permits.
Accommodations range from studio suites to two-bedroom apartments and free-standing cottages. Depending on the floor plan, features may include full kitchens, kitchenettes, in-unit laundry, private patios or balconies, walk-in showers, and ample storage; not all residences offer every feature. Each unit is equipped with smoke detectors and an emergency call system linked directly to the nursing station, and housekeeping and maintenance services are provided on a scheduled basis. Optional upgrades such as covered parking and additional storage are offered when available.
Dining is centered around a main restaurant-style dining room that serves three meals daily, with menus developed under the guidance of a registered dietitian to accommodate diabetic, low-sodium, vegetarian, and other physician-ordered diets. A casual café provides lighter fare and grab-and-go options throughout the day. Residents may request tray service to their apartments during illness or recovery, and private dining space can be reserved for family gatherings. Meal credits are built into the monthly fee structure, and flexible dining hours allow residents to eat at times that best suit their routines.
