Pinnacle Place Memory Care in Little Rock is dedicated exclusively to residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The community provides full-time Memory Care supported by a staff that is trained to handle the cognitive, behavioral and physical challenges that come with memory loss. Short-term respite stays are available for families who need temporary support, and residents who live with diabetes receive monitoring and assistance tailored to their individual care plans. A speech therapist is on call to address communication or swallowing difficulties that often accompany progressive cognitive conditions.
The secured community layout helps prevent wandering while allowing residents freedom to move about purpose-built living areas. On-site medical resources include incontinence and ambulatory care, medication management, and regular visits from optometrists, dentists, podiatrists, occupational therapists and physical therapists. The building is designed specifically for memory support, using clear sightlines and cueing to reduce confusion. Because Pinnacle Place serves only Memory Care residents, every program, staffing decision and safety measure is centered on the needs of people with dementia.
Apartments and shared suites vary, and not every residence includes every feature, but options can include wheelchair-accessible step-in showers, in-room Wi-Fi, and proximity to the community’s central fireplace. Residents have access to outdoor courtyards, raised garden beds and walking paths for fresh air, while inside they can gather around the piano or organ for informal music sessions. Visitor parking is available on site.
Dining is offered all day in a restaurant-style setting so residents can eat when they are hungry rather than on a rigid schedule. Menus are overseen by nutrition staff who prepare meals that accommodate physician-ordered diets such as gluten-free, no-sugar and low-sodium options. Guest meals are welcome, making it easier for families to share time at the table. For residents with changing tastes or diminished appetites, staff can provide smaller portions or finger-food alternatives to maintain proper nutrition.
Residents can join clubs, use the activity center, or log on in the library and computer lounge. Scheduled programs include yoga or chair yoga, karaoke, live music, reminiscence and other sensory-based sessions designed for cognitive engagement. Intergenerational visits, birthday parties, dances and group outings add variety to the calendar. For exercise and relaxation, there are indoor and outdoor walking paths and access to a swimming pool.
