The Fountains at La Cholla offers three distinct levels of care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—allowing residents to move between service levels without having to change communities. The clinical team is equipped to serve residents who wander during the day or night, are at risk for elopement, or present combative or other behavioral issues. Advanced dementia conditions are supported, and specialized monitoring covers those who stay up all night or need ongoing wound care. Nurses manage oxygen therapy, special diets, and diabetic care ranging from oral medications to injections and sliding-scale insulin.
Around-the-clock oversight is provided by RNs or LPNs on site, with a nurse on call 24 hours a day. Background-checked staff members remain awake overnight and respond to pull cords or personal emergency response systems, while secured doors, fenced outdoor areas, and door alarms reduce exit risk. Bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting can all be handled at a full-assistance level, and mobility help ranges from standby support to two-person or Hoyer-lift transfers, including care for residents who are bed bound. On-site medical offerings such as podiatry services and a dedicated therapy room streamline routine healthcare and rehabilitation needs, and an activity director coordinates daily programming to keep residents engaged.
Apartments vary in size and layout, but many include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable access, and in-unit laundry. Some residences allow personal paint colors and décor changes, while others rely on scheduled laundry services rather than in-unit machines. Housekeeping is provided for all assisted-living and memory-care units; independent-living residents may opt into regular housekeeping and laundry services as needed.
Dining features both set menus and made-to-order options, with snacks and room service available throughout the day. A private dining room can be reserved for family visits, and the culinary team accommodates diet modifications such as gluten-free or vegetarian plans. Independent-living residents typically purchase a monthly meal plan that can be adjusted based on how often they choose to dine in the community’s restaurant-style venue.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, and scheduled transportation for appointments and errands. Amenities include outdoor smoking areas, communal gardens, a pool, a wellness center, an exercise room, a movie room, a library, and on-site religious services. Concierge support, internet access, and an in-house barber and beauty shop are also available. Pets are allowed; it's a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
