Cascades of Tucson provides three levels of residency—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—allowing residents to move between service tiers without leaving the community. The clinical team supports a wide range of medical needs, including residents who wander or present elopement risk, individuals with combative or other behavioral issues, people who stay up all night, and those living with advanced dementia. Skilled staff manage wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, diabetes (both oral medications and insulin), and care for adults under 60 when needed. Bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting can all be performed with full assistance, and the community accepts residents who require walkers, wheelchairs, standby help, one-person transfers, or are bed-bound.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on staff, and a nurse remains on call around the clock. Night shifts are both awake and asleep, with background-checked employees monitoring door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, and a PERS alert system. An activity director coordinates daily programs, while 24-hour security ensures controlled access. On-site podiatry visits are available, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric conditions as part of its overall medical service package.
Apartments vary, and not every unit has every feature, but residents may choose layouts that include a private bathroom, kitchenette, furnished options, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the ability to paint or decorate their space. Wider doorways and wheelchair-accessible designs are available for those who need them.
The dining program offers both set menus and made-to-order selections three times daily, along with snacks at any hour and diet modifications ranging from diabetic to low-sodium plans. Independent Living residents can opt into medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, personal laundry service, and a monthly meal plan that reduces out-of-pocket dining costs.
Cascades of Tucson maintains resident parking, wheelchair accessibility, communal gardens, a wellness center, an exercise room, internet access, and on-site religious services. A full-service barber and beauty shop operate on premises, and transportation is scheduled for medical appointments and local errands. Outdoor smoking areas and pet ownership are permitted; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
