Orchard Pointe at Surprise delivers both Assisted Living and Memory Care, concentrating on residents who need close medical oversight. The team is trained to support individuals who wander at any hour, attempt elopement, display combative or other behavioral issues, stay awake through the night, require wound care, supplemental oxygen, or specially managed diets. Diabetes care covers oral medications, injections, and sliding-scale protocols, and the community accepts residents under the age of sixty as well as those with advanced dementia conditions.
An on-site registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is present 24 hours a day, reinforced by on-call nursing and regular visits from podiatry and psychiatric professionals. Every staff member passes a background check, and awake and asleep night shifts supply continuous monitoring. Security features include fenced outdoor areas, alarmed doors, WanderGuard technology, pull-cord alerts, and staff on duty around the clock. Caregivers can provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and all levels of transfers—from supervision with a walker to two-person or Hoyer-lift moves for bed-bound residents.
Apartments vary in layout and equipment, but may offer private bathrooms, kitchenettes, basic furnishings, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to repaint or decorate. Some units have in-suite laundry while others rely on the scheduled community laundry service; housekeeping is provided for every residence.
Meals are prepared three times daily with a standing menu and on-demand choices, and snacks are always available. Dietary modifications are routine, whether gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chop, purée, or thickened liquids. Residents may dine in the main room, reserve a private space for guests, or receive meals in their apartments when preferred.
Amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible grounds, an exercise room, movie theater, library, barber/beauty shop, internet access, communal gardens, pool, special-interest clubs, and on-site religious services. Smoking is permitted outdoors, and small pets are welcome; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. Scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments, errands, and group outings.
