Amber Creek Inn Memory Care Community is dedicated exclusively to Memory Care, with clinical protocols in place to manage both routine and complex health needs. Nurses can address wandering behaviors at any hour, mitigate elopement risk, and work with residents who may be combative, display other behavioral challenges, or remain awake through the night. The team is trained to treat wounds, administer oxygen, and follow physician-ordered special diets. Residents under 60 are accepted, and all levels of diabetic management are supported, including oral medications, injections, and sliding-scale insulin. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is always on site, a second nurse remains on call, and the community partners with podiatry, audiology, dental, and rehabilitation providers in an on-site therapy room. Families dealing with advanced dementia can also be reassured that the community accepts psychiatric conditions and coordinates closely with physicians to adjust care plans as cognitive changes progress.
Care delivery extends beyond medical treatment to comprehensive personal support and strong safety measures. Staff members provide hands-on help with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and they can execute transfers ranging from simple standby assistance to two-person lifts, full Hoyer transfers, and care for bed-bound residents. Background-checked caregivers work an awake night shift, while a secured perimeter with fenced grounds, alarmed doors, wander-guard technology, and in-room pull cords protect residents who may try to exit. An activity director structures therapeutic programs throughout the day, and 24-hour security personnel remain on site to complement the nursing team.
Resident rooms are designed for comfort and practicality. Most suites feature a private bathroom, standard furnishings, individual climate controls, and cable service, and families may repaint or decorate to create a familiar setting. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are included, though not every accommodation offers every listed feature, so it is best to verify availability during a tour.
Meals are prepared by culinary staff who offer both a set menu and made-to-order options. Snacks are available at any time, and residents may dine in the restaurant-style room, their own suite, or a private family room. The kitchen can accommodate gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chopped, puréed, and thickened-liquid diets, as well as other physician-ordered modifications required for diabetes management or general health.
The campus is wheelchair accessible and includes a barber and beauty shop, movie room, internet access points, communal gardens, an on-site chapel for religious services, and a library. Scheduled transportation helps residents reach medical appointments and local errands. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
