ACOYA Shea provides Assisted Living, Independent Living and Memory Care, allowing residents to transition between levels of support without leaving the community. The health team is equipped to manage wandering day or night, elopement risk, combative or other behavioral issues, and “up-all-night” sleep patterns. Clinical capabilities include wound care, oxygen management, specialized diets, and diabetes oversight for oral medications, insulin injections and sliding-scale needs. The community also accepts residents under 60 as well as individuals with advanced dementia.
A licensed nurse is on site 24/7, with an additional nurse on call at all times. Staff members undergo background checks, work awake overnight, and monitor a secure campus that uses door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, wander guard technology and in-room pull cords to request help. On-site services cover podiatry, audiology, dental care, psychiatric support and a dedicated therapy room. Caregivers can assist fully with bathing, dressing, eating and toileting, and they are trained in mobility support ranging from standby help with a walker to two-person or Hoyer-lift transfers for bed-bound residents.
Apartments offer practical features such as private bathrooms, some kitchenettes, furnished or unfurnished layouts, individual climate controls, cable service, housekeeping and either in-unit or scheduled laundry; not every unit includes every feature, so it is best to ask about specific floor plans. Residents may personalize their space with paint or décor. Independent Living residents receive medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry service and a monthly meal plan as part of their program.
Dining includes a daily set menu, made-to-order selections, all-day snacks, in-room meal delivery and a reservable private dining room. The culinary staff supports gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chop, puréed and thickened-liquid diets, along with other physician-ordered modifications.
Community amenities include resident parking, outside smoking areas, pet-friendly policies, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, an on-site barber and beauty shop, exercise and movie rooms, internet throughout the building, communal gardens, regular religious services, concierge assistance, a library, outdoor pool, special-interest clubs and scheduled transportation. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
